The Accident

Well, if any one of you has read Brandi's blog then I am sure you are wondering who had the car accident. Well that would have been my husband. Don't worry he is fine. Last night about 6:30 Travis left to go meet his brothers to go running. He was almost to his parents house when he topped a hill and at the bottom there was a car stopped in the road waiting to turn. Travis was obviously speeding and although he slammed on his brakes he still couldn't stop in time. He swerved to try and miss the car, but still managed to hit it and also hit the trees on the side of the road. He called me while I was at work (which I quickly left) and I went out there to see how bad it was. Needless to say the Jeep and the other car are totaled. Luckily no one was seriously injured (Travis is just sore) and we have good insurance that is working with us to quickly take care of this. We are now trying to decide what to do about getting him a new car. We don't want to buy a new one since he will be leaving in the near future. So we are trying to get his old Acura fixed to get him from home to work until he leaves. But in the mean time just keep us in your prayers we are really going to need it.

I am so excited!!

Ok, so I know that most people who read this are not going to really care or just laugh at me but I am so excited. We have already been working on the whole hitting the door to go outside to use the "potty" with Dewy. It has only been a couple of days and today when me and Travis got home she went to the door. At first I thought that it was just my imagination but I took her out anyway and she did go PEE! And later she actually hit the door and looked at me and whined. So I go all excited and took her out and she went poop. I know that she is going to have more accidents but right now I can see progress. YES!!!! I am so happy and I am so proud. Maybe Brandi's tricks are working! Thanks Brandi. Now lets just see if she will sleep in her cage tonight without whining. Keep your fingers crossed.

Pictures are coming

Hey guys I know everyone wants to see pictures of the wedding I am working on it I promise. Mom has the Cd's and as soon as she is done with them I will post them. I also have some good news. Yesterday me and Travis got a new puppy. We had been talking about it and we had just started looking. We thought we might want to adopt one so we went to a animal shelter. We took Tucker with us to make sure if we picked one he would like it. We didn't think that we were going to come home with a new puppy but we did. We went and looked at a litter of Boxer-mix puppies that someone had abandoned. We wanted a girl and there were three there. The first 2 didn't like Tucker but this one cute little one seemed to love him and he loved her too. I picked her up and he laid her head on my shoulder and licked me. I fell in love and so did Travis. So we adopted her. Travis named her Dewy. Weird yes, but it fits her. She looks sort of like a boxer. She is black with white on her chest, paws, and the very tip of her tail. I have down loaded pictures of her onto the other computer but I can't seem to get them onto blogger. So I am going to have to play with it some more. But when I figure it out I promise to post lots and lots of pictures.

He is Home

This is how tired Travis was.... he fell asleep on the floor watching Scooby Doo while I was cooking dinner!


Well I thought that everyone would like to know that Travis made it home safe and sound finally! He called me right before 7 o'clock this morning and said they would get to come home soon and that I could come pick him up. Well turns out that soon meant not until after 9 o'clock, but who cares he is home now and its not like I was really sleeping anyway. While I was waiting at the reserve center they were having their final formation before they were dismissed when I heard them say Travis's name and Lance Corporal (in the same sentence). At first it really confused me, but then it hit me (I am sleep deprived remember) that they were promoting him!! I was so excited if I thought that it wouldn't have gotten one of us in trouble I might have screamed or jumped around or something of the like, but I didn't. I am so proud of him I know that he has been waiting for this for a long time. But now that he is home all he has done pretty much is sleep. Actually the first thing he did was get a shower (which he really needed) and then slept while I went grocery shopping. back to our boring life but I am thrilled. Thanks for all the support and prayers during my terrible weekend!

Round Up of the Week

Well finally the week is over. Me and Travis have been married for ONE WHOLE week. It is exciting but kind of depressing since I have been by myself since Monday. But I am fine and counting down the days until he comes home.
I have been cleaning most of the day so I thought that I would take the time to write and let everyone know how the week has gone. Well, Travis left on Monday and I went to work. My friend Mary Beth came to keep me company. Tuesday I cleaned the bedroom and then went to work. Wednesday night I went out to lunch with my friend Emily. And Thursday was the same as Tuesday nothing but work and Tucker. But Friday was more interesting I went to dinner at my Aunt's house with my mom. It was really fun. So as you can tell this has been a slow boring week. But there has been some exciting (not in a good way) things happen. And they of course all happened since Travis has left and I can't fix them so I am waiting to for him to come home and fix them. The first not so bad thing was all of the light bulbs blew over the kitchen table and I have no light bulbs, but when I get some I can fix it. The next is the desk top computer has been attacked by some virus and I am the most computer illiterate person EVER!!! It takes 30 minutes to load anything.Luckily we have a laptop that I can do everything on. But it so frustrating. But the last worst thing is last night our cars were EGGED! I went out last night and my car was covered in eggs. I thought that it was just mine, but later I looked at it was not they got Travis's Jeep and his old Acura! It was obviously meant to be direct hit on us because we are the only people who got egged. And they got the INSIDE of the Acura. Which means they knew that it is always unlocked (it doesn't lock, which is part of the reason that we got a new car). We have suspicions and next time it happens I plan on filing a police report.
Obviously Travis knows nothing of this stuff, so it should be interesting when he comes home... in 8 days!! Hopefully next week will go by faster with no more excitements.

The new Dicksons

Hey everyone. I am taking the time to let everyone know how absolutely wonderful the wedding was. It was everything that we had ever hoped for. It went off with out a hitch thanks to my wonderful family who made sure that there was no problems. I will post pictures when ever get some.
So for all those that are wondering Travis did leave this morning. It was interesting morning. Travis was told to be at the Reserve center at 7:30 which to him means 7:00. So at 5:30 Travis gets up and showers and finishes packing. I get up around 6:00 and we leave around 6:25. We get to the reserve center and Travis remembers that he left his cell phone so we drove all the way back to the apartment to get it. We finally get to the reserve center on time. Well the funny thing is, is that I thought that I was just dropping him off and then leaving. So I went in my pj's and a t-shirt. Well when we got there Travis asked me to come in and wait with him so I did.(not completely willingly) We walk in and they tell us that we don't have to be there for another hour and they told us to go get breakfast. So we went to Hardees. We came back and sat there until 9:25 when they finally say that his flight leaves at 10:35!!!!! And asked if I could take him to the airport. So we leave, pretty quickly and actually make it to the airport on time. It was a crazy morning that I could apparently have spent sleeping. But he left and arrived safely in Quantico and will be back in a couple of weeks. I promise to keep you updated.
