What a week!

We have had a lot of fun this first week that Travis has been home. We have done so much stuff that I don't even know where to start. We have gone out to eat, watched alot of movies, and my favorite got new bedroom furniture!

We originally had a full size bed, but Travis, Dewy, and myself just didn't fit anymore. It was annoying to roll one way and be in Travis's face, and then roll the other way and be in Dewy's face. So we played around with the idea of getting a new bed. Travis wasn't so sure about it. But then we went and laid on some new mattresses and he feel in love! I am so excited. We don't have the mattress yet, we get it on Monday, but all the other furniture is in the bedroom. It was a real task to get it all in there just with me and Travis, but well worth it!

Well I am going to go watch another movie with Travis, and I promise to post pictures of the new furniture once we get the mattress on Monday!

Home again, Home again

Travis is home! After 7 long months Travis and all of Delta Co. has returned home! It was such an exciting (and cold) day. Here are some pictures from the day. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this deployment, the mean so much to us both!

Back in the U.S.

Recently, I got a call from Travis. It was the best phone call of this entire deployment! What was it you ask. It was to tell me that they finally made it back to the states!! Can you believe it his back in the States, and even more ready to make it home.

Well, most of you know that I had a sticker on the back of my car that said "Half My Heart is in Iraq". But I was determined that the day that he made it to the states safe and sound I would take it off (and burn it!). So the at the same day that he got back I took it off. It was so wonderful to be able to take it off. Well stay tuned for more, cause we all know what is coming next!!!

A not so happy V-day

Well as most of you know, I was suppose to go to the mountains this weekend with my friend Whitney. We were suppose to leave Friday and come back today (Sunday). Well, let's just say it didn't work out like I had planned.

Friday: I get up and run some errands for our trip and pack both me and Dewy for the entire weekend! I am all excited. We were suppose to check in to the cabin at 3 pm. But Whitney decided that she didn't want to that we would go up later. So at 4:30 pm she calls me to tell me she is leaving for the cabin and that she will call me with the directions to get there! So me and Dewy get in the car and take off at about 4:45. Well traffic is TERRIBLE!! We didn't take in to account that it is Valentines day weekend and that Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is at hot spot for this time of year. But after almost 2 hours we stop at the local Wal-Mart to meet up with Whitney who took another 2 hours to get there and do her shopping so we could get on the road! At this point both me and Dewy are tired of being in the car for 4 hours when it was only suppose to take 1 and 1/2, not to mention that we both have to pee something bad.

We have to take these tiny barely paved back roads to get there. I do me tiny! I was terrified that I was going to meet some one and get run of the road. So 1 terrifying set of roads, and nearly 5 hours after our trip began we got to the cabin.

So at this point I am grouchy and tired and just ready for a nice hot relaxing bath and a nice warm bed. Until I realize that Whitney's aunt (who went with her to help her with her 3 week old baby) had invited a few friends up to visit and watch a movie. Well I got my semi-warm bath, and joined them for a movie. So at midnight the friends leave and me and Dewy finally get to go to bed.

Oh, but wait.... it wasn't meant to last! Poor Dewy kept hearing all these weird noises (and so did I) and had to keep investigating them as best as possible, so she didn't get to sleep well. Which means neither did I! After all I am very aware of what she is doing in the night. At home we have no problem there was a different story. The bed was hard as a rock, and the pillows were so flat that I ended up with a crick in my neck! But I was going to try to make the best of it when........

Dewy throws up! Yes, right there she decided she isn't feeling well at she must throw up. Oh, but she didn't throw up just 1 time but 2!!! So once I clean it up and get back into bed it doesn't take to long before I start to feel funny myself. And then I throw up! So me and Dewy laid in our hard as a rock bed and nurse our sick tummy's. We finally get back to sleep when at 6 o'clock in the morning Travis calls! At this point I am just happy to hear his voice! As I always am. But then my phone looses signal! Not once, not twice, but three times! So a 20 minute phone call was actually 5 mins of "can you hear me?". But at least I got to talk to him right?

Not to long after that still not feeling well, I get a barely there shower and packed up to go home. I knew I was sick and didn't want to get Whitney's 3 week old daughter sick as well. And I didn't want Dewy to throw up all over everything and ruin it since she wasn't suppose to be there in the first place. I didn't want to come home I had hoped it was going to be a fun weekend, but hated to take the chance of getting any one else sick.

So after having to use the 4 wheel drive to get out of the place, finding my way out of that place, and a phone call from Travis (and we actually got to talk!) I finally made it home! Were me and Dewy spent the rest of the day in bed sleeping!

Sounds like fun, right!?

Today has been better, no more sickness and shopping and a movie with my mom!

Happy Early Valentine's Day

Aren't they gorgeous! And they came all the way from Iraq! Well, oh so Travis ordered them while in Iraq. They are my Valentine's day present from him. Since he isn't going to be here he had them delivered. And I won't be at the house for Valentine's day either so he had them delivered early so that I can enjoy them longer! I have the best husband in the world!

It's starting to look like Spring!

It is absolutely gorgeous here!!! I am sure it won't last, but I am soaking it up while I can. Today is around 65 degree's and nothing but sunshine. Wonderful!!! As you can tell it has put me in a pretty good mood, well this weather and all the wonderful phone calls I have been getting from my amazing husband. But that is another post I guess.

But back today, Today is actually Dewy's 1st Birthday. I know this isn't very exciting to those of you who have children, but I think it is exciting. So today in order to celebrate we went and played in my grandparents fenced in backyard. She LOVED it!! She ran laps around the entire thing for forever. And even got excited to see my cousins dog next door! Then we went to Petsmart to get her a new crate. This one is plastic so she can't bend the bars and get out! She is a little less exciting for her, but I think it is pretty cool. And later we are planning going on a walk. And she has something special to eat tonight! It's called can food! Which she only gets on special occasions.

But anyway, I am really hoping that this weather will hold out for Travis's return home! Or else I may freeze! I hope you all are having as good of a day as we are here.

Random stuff

What a day! And not in a bad way. I got a call yesterday from my boss. Business has been really slow lately and since it snowed yesterday business was worse yesterday. So they decided to give everyone the day off today and close. So I got to have an entire day off today! This rarely happens so you can imagine my excitement. Today I have been cleaning my apartment and just chilling! I love it. That is really the extent of my news to tell you. See really exciting. But I have been taking lots of pictures lately. They aren't of anything big, just me, Dewy, and the snow. I hope you enjoy.

February has arrived!

This month excites me to no end. You all have no idea how exciting February is for me. I have so much going on this month. In a couple of weeks I am going to the Mountains for the weekend with a couple of friends to have a mini vacation, of sorts. Then all of my friends that have some one deployed and I are getting together for our monthly dinner. We are really hoping that this will be our last. And then the big homecoming that we are hoping for. At least we are still hoping that it happens this month. Oh, I forgot there is my brothers birthday, and his birthday party. See, there is just so much that I can't keep it all straight! But I am trying. I plan to fix my calender on the wall so that I won't forget anything.

Next month is going to be so exciting as well. Our 1st anniversary and our trip to Disney!!!! This has got to be the most excited I have been this entire deployment!! I am going to try really hard and remember to take pictures so that you all can see all the fun of February!!!
