Stuck in a Rut

At least that is how it feels the last week. Not that it is a bad thing, it just means that we are living boring lives here in the Dickson household. We have gotten into a routine (finally) and are doing good. Although it does make for a boring blog. Sorry. But hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will have something blog worthy, until then enjoy our random pictures from the last week or so!

Lost package: found!

Well the mystery has been solved! I sent Travis one last package at the very beginning of January and he never got it. They were moving around alot at that point so it wasn't surprising. But it was an expensive package, it had his cell phone in it. Well since he never got it when he got home we replaced the phone. But today when we got home from our weekly dinner with mom and dad there it was! Sitting in our mailbox. It is cool that to see where it has been. There are so many stickers on it from all the airports and bases and such things that it stopped in on its way out there and the way back. But what was even funnier was the reaction Travis gave when he got it. He was so excited. I can only imagine what he acted like when he got them while he was in Iraq! He quickly opened up the pudding and ate it, and the candy! Even after 2 months of being home he was so excited about eating the food! Here are some pictures of him and Dewy enjoying the goodies inside!

This is Travis playing with the phone!

Dewy and Travis enjoying the pudding

Look at how messed up and covered in writing it is!

Day at the Lake

This weekend has been really fun for us. (at least so far!) Travis took Friday off again, so we had time to do a couple of things. But what we really had fun doing was taking Dewy to the Lake. It was an absolutely gorgeous day on Friday and we didn't want to just sit inside and do nothing. So we thought that we should do something with Dewy. Taking a walk didn't sound like fun. So we thought that we would take her to the dog park, but when we got there it was busy so we didn't wan to let our dog that isn't always sure about other dogs around a bunch of dogs, so we thought that we might take her to The Cove. It is a little park area that allows dogs and is right next to the lake. So we took her there, and she LOVED it! Her and Travis got into the water and she never wanted to come out. She was so funny to watch.

She has never really been around water, other than her baths, so even though she is black lab mix she still doesn't know how to swim. Which made her hilarious to watch! She didn't realize that she can walk normal in the water, when she was in the shallow end she would high step it. She looked like she was prancing, but the further she went out the less she could high step. So she started bouncing. Exactly like a frog. She would jump, come all the way out of the water, and land where ever she wanted to be. And she refused to go any further than she could touch!

Travis took her out where he knew she couldn't touch to see if she would swim. As soon as she hit the water and realized she couldn't touch she started working the front legs but did nothing with the back ones, so she had a really hard time. She made it the very short distance to Travis and nearly climbed him so that he would rescue her!!

I sat on the shore the entire time, so I got some really good laughs! She had so much fun on Friday that after we did some stuff Saturday morning we took her back. She loves the water, just not swimming. The best part of all this is she comes home and sleeps all day! It is great.

Today is raining. This morning is church and grocery shopping!!! So we will see how today goes, but I hope it is as good as these last few days!

Easter

Happy belated Easter! I hope your weekend was just as wonderful as ours was. Saturday morning we got up and ran some errands, which we didn't actually get to do considering it was Easter weekend! But that is ok. When we came home, I boiled eggs so that we could decorate them. About 1 o'clock my friend Mary Beth brought her little boy over so that we could go hunt Easter eggs at the apartment office! He had so much fun finding the eggs, and even won a prize. Which later leaked on our carpet! It was a toy lawn mower that blew bubbles. Well Travis put to many bubbles in it! But it was funny to see 3 adults running around trying to get this thing to stop leaking on the floor!

After we finally got it situated we sat down to dye eggs! I hadn't done it in a couple of years, but it was fun. We thought that Dylan would think it was fun, but turns out that the 3 of us had more fun the little kid did!! I did dye my hand a little but other than that there were no major accidents. We topped off the night with delivered Chinese food and me making a cheesecake for our family lunch on Sunday!

Sunday morning was wonderful, Mary Beth attended church with us. It was a great service. But once we were done we came back to the apartment to get Dewy. We took her to my Grandmothers house so that she could run in their backyard. We visited with family for a while and then Travis went fishing with my cousins. I came home and watched a girly movie and had pizza!

As you can tell we had a good relaxing weekend! I did take some pictures of Saturday, but didn't download them to the computer! Sorry. Well I hope you all have a great week!

Chopsticks!

Brandi recently sent all of us left here in the states our very own chopsticks from Japan! So we thought that we should eat a meal with them. It was defiantly an in interesting meal! I don't think it has actually taken us that long to eat dinner. But here are some pictures of us eating last night.

Me and Dad eating out of the bowel with our chopsticks, I had learned (sort of) how to use them by now!

Mom she was pretty good at it!

Travis, he cheated he already knew how to use them

Dad, I can't remember for sure, but either him or Kyle was the first to give up and use a fork!

Kyle, well he just speaks for himself

Me, this was the first time I used them. I was so excited that I actually did it.

We had so much fun trying to use them. I did learn one thing, never use a plate always use a bowl!! Thanks Brandi for sending them to us.

What a weekend!

What a weekend! We have had so much fun. For Travis it actually started Thursday afternoon. He took leave and just chilled here around the house. Friday morning him and a friend went fishing, and from the stories that I have heard they had losts of fun. He went really really early so he got home around 10 am. I was still asleep when he got home, so I got up and got ready and we went to this local sale thing at the Expo center. It was suppose to be computers, electronics, and stuff for really cheap! Well turns out nothing was really that cheap. We were very disappointed in the entire thing, but it was fun to get to do something together!

Saturday, was once again a pretty day here in Tennessee. So I thought that I would do what I have been wanting to do for some time now. I planted flowers in our little garden area outside of our apartment. I took some before pictures (which got erased) and I forgot to take after pictures! But I still had fun. After I got done me and Travis got ready for a night out with a couple of friends! He is in Travis's unit, and I became friends with his wife while they were deployed. We really had alot of fun. We went to dinner, and then we both needed to go to the store which the guys had lots of fun playing with everything they could get there hands on!

This morning we got up and went to church. And since it is such a beautiful day here we took Dewy to Grandmothers and Granddads so that she could run of some energy, and we got to talk and visit with them. It is nice to sit on the back porch and enjoy the company.

So as you can tell it is has been a really good weekend. And I can only just hope that the rest of the week can be as good and peaceful as this weekend has been!

Hope you all have a good week to!

New sheets!

Since we bought our king size bed, we really only had one set of sheets. I had actually intended to go buy more sheets on Sunday. Well me and Travis went to mom and dads house after church just to say hi. Well we were getting ready to leave when my mom pulls out of the spare bedroom, a new set of sheets for our bed! I was super excited about the sheets in general, until I saw what kind of sheets they were! And then I was as excited as I could be. They were fleece sheets!!!! She had told me about the ones she had bought for her bed. I was so excited to have my own. Even Travis thought they were cool.

Well, we immediatly came home and put them on our bed. That night when we went to bed it was like sleeping on a little piece of a cloud! They were so comfy and soft! Even 3 nights later they are still as soft and comfy. And we LOVE them. Thanks mom!!!!!!
